The Department of Psychology, Abeda Inamdar Senior College, was established in 1994. The faculty believes in being a facilitator to students in the process of gaining education. It follows the motto “Discipline without stress, punishment or rewards”. Faculty and students actively participate in the teaching-learning process. Modern teaching techniques and computer technology are used to enhance the effectiveness of the process. The department has around 250 students studying at FY, SY, and TYBA (general and special level). It carries out many pro-student activities. Students are encouraged to participate in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities like class tests; topic related paper and case presentations, study tours, role plays, movie shows, attending workshops and seminars as well as volunteering to work for NGOs. The students maintain a wall magazine where they display cuttings and articles related to psychological issues so as to update their knowledge of psychology and its applications. [Read more]

The department of Psychology conducted its annual fest, ‘Psyched Up’ on Tuesday, 01/10/2019. All students participated enthusiastically and organized creative activities in the field of Psychology for visitors. Posters, games and models related to various topics of Psychology were displayed. Around 58 students actively participated to make the event a success and there were around 117 visitors.

an autonomous certificate course for skill development was conducted during 03/12/2019 to 05/02/2020 entitled ‘Counselling Skills : An Integrated approach’. Ms. Nida Shaikh and Ms. Mugdha Shivapurkar were the course instructors. A total of 45 students enrolled for the course.
